Before and After

All of these gowns are great examples of how important alterations can be. Even though some of these transformations are quite dramatic, even the smallest adjustments can make a huge difference in how you look and feel in your gown!

This gown was a beautiful second-hand find that needed a total overhaul. Along with cleaning and restoring the gown, we also sized it up 10-12 inches in the bodice. The bride didn't want to lose the look of the original back, so we opted for adding mesh panels into the sides. This worked so perfectly with the original design that you can barely tell we altered it! (Essence of Australia D2363)

This BHLDN (Watters, Hyde) gown started out looking a bit baggy in the hips and bum. We decided to take in the hips as well as do one of my favorite alterations: the booty tuck. This gown is also a great example of how important it is to get your dress pressed and steamed before the big day! See what the bride, Liv had to say:

"Rosalie did the alterations for my wedding gown, made the veil and made the most lovely masks for my partner and I for our wedding day! She did an incredible job, I could not be happier with the result...I am SO grateful to Rosalie for helping me navigate these strange times, being my advocate in the fittings and making me feel so comfortable. I could not recommend her more highly." -Liv

In the first picture you can see the dress the day Toni bought it at David's Bridal. It was lacking in structure throughout the bodice, and needed to be taken in. We added full boning throughout the top, as well as bra cups and wide straps for support. Toni had a small, covid-friendly wedding in 2020. She brought her dress back to me the following year, as she planned to have a larger wedding with all her family and friends and wanted something a little different. We were inspired by a victorian, steam-punk look so we added a corset back, as well as several pickups on the skirt and a bustle. I love the transformation of this gown, and it is a great example of the many ways you can customize a dress to make it your own! See what Toni had to say:

"Rosalie went above and beyond not once but twice! COVID brought many obstacles but allowed my husband and I to get married twice. Rosalie transformed the dress both times with stunning outcomes! She was thoughtful, creative, professional, warm and very caring." -Toni

This gown was not only too big and too long, but you can see several fit issues such as the high bust point and gaping around the armhole. See the transformation where we moved the bust point down with a series of bust darts. See Abby's review below!

"I drove 1.5hr to bring my dress to Rosalie for alterations, and it was 100% worth every minute of travel time. So many things about planning a wedding are incredibly stressful, but Rosalie makes the alterations process effortlessly simple. The minute I stepped into her studio I knew my heavy, complicated dress was in excellent hands....I felt like a princess in my dress, thank you so much Rosalie!" -Abby
