Frequently Asked Questions
When should I schedule my alterations?
I recommend reaching out six months in advance to book your appointment. This will insure we get to work together, as I am a one person operation I can only take on so many gowns. We will schedule your first appointment for 8-12 weeks from your wedding. Your last appointment should take place about 2-3 weeks from your wedding day. This might seem close, but it ensures your dress will fit perfectly on the big day. Please note, any gowns with less than a 3 week turnaround will be charged a rush fee.
How much do alterations cost?
Alterations will generally range from 200-600. Prices depend on the type of alteration and the style of the gown. You can contact me for a free quote, or come in for half hour consultation to get an idea of how much alterations will cost.
What should I bring to my fitting?
The most important things to bring to your fitting are:
Your beautiful gown!
Shoes (I can't hem your gown without them!)
Undergarments (if you are wearing any, a bra for example)
Payment (all payment is due upfront, before alterations begin.)
Can we personalize my gown?
Yes! Custom gown alterations are my favorite! We can create unique accessories, belts, sleeves, whatever you can dream up! If you are looking to create something custom, please contact me as early as possible. I want to work with you, but custom pieces take time!
Do you create custom wedding gowns?
Definitely! I love creating custom gowns! If you are interested in having a custom wedding gown made, I require at least 8-12 months for the design and fitting process. The custom process is complicated and requires a lot of communication, so if you are interested I encourage you to email me! I'll ask you some questions about what you are looking for, and we'll begin there.
Is your studio accessible?
My front entrance as four steep stone steps, my back entrance has two wide stone steps and one more low step up to get inside the studio. I do not have a wheelchair ramp available. If this is an issue for you, please contact me! I provide a home fitting option to those who are unable to, or have difficulty, traveling. Contact me for more information!
